HERE ARE YOUR WSL CT WILDCARDS FOR THE FIRST 2 EVENTS.

by Jesse Starling

As most of us know there are some very exciting times coming for the New South Wales coast line, with not one, but two World Surf League Championship Tour events. One of the events being held at Merewether beach in Newcastle and the other making a return to the prestigious North Narrabeen. This is very exciting for both local communities seeing as most had a hard time last year due to Covid-19. It is a chance for businesses to flourish, coast lines to be explored but most importantly to showcase some pretty spectacular surfing.

This being said, each event has some pretty amazing local surfers and with the final calls being made for the wildcard spots we thought we’d take the time to shine a light on all these phenomenal men and women who have been chosen.

Rip Curl Newcastle Cup presented by Corona Womens wild card goes to….

PHILIPPA ANDERSON BLOWING THE TAIL RECENTLY. Pic WSL/ETHAN SMITH

Philippa Anderson

Philippa is an experienced QS competitive surfer who has come so close to qualifying for consecutive years now. With a powerful backhand and a whippy forehand Philsy is definitely one to watch in this event. Coming up against the infamous Tyler Wright and Sage Erickson we look forward to seeing Philippa give her first ever CT event a real good crack! Congratulations and good luck to you Philippa.

Rip Curl Newcastle Cup presented by Corona Mens wild card goes to…

Jackson Baker

Jackson ‘Jacko’ Baker is one of the nicest guys going around town. A smile that can light up any room and a surfing style that will leave your jaw on the floor, Jacko will be one to watch in his debut CT event. After taking the win at the Port Stephens Pro QS event a few weeks ago Jacko has got a few heats under his belt and we hope he keeps the ball rolling! Smash it Jacko we look forward to watching you!

Rip Curl Narrabeen Classic presented by Corona Womens wild card goes to….

NORTH NARRABEEN LOCAL LAURA ENEVER IS READY TO GO! Pic. Unknown

Laura Enever

The one and only Laura Enever making a major comeback to CT life. To describe how we’re feeling about seeing laura on the CT again we would use the world ‘EXCITED’. Laura has been a mentor to us for so long now so we are very happy to see her make a return to the big stage for an awesome event at our home break! Go get it Laura.

Rip Curl Narrabeen Classic presented by Corona Womens wild card goes to….

Dylan Moffat

No one deserves this wildcard more than Mr Dylan Moffat. He has trained like crazy over the last 12 months and has really stepped up in his surfing. All in all just a really great guy, respectful, lovely and hard working. Show up and Blow up Dyl!

We are so excited to see these surfers compete in these major events along the New South Wales coastline and very happy that the WSL Championship Tour has made a comeback to NSW! Everyone get down there and support your favourite wildcards, because i know we will be!
