SNAPPER ROCKS LOSES CT EVENT IN 2021 WITH NORTH NARRABEEN NAMED AS NEXT CT EVENT
First it’s the iconic Bells Beach and now it’s the CT at Snapper Rocks. The WSL have announced they will cancel the second event of the CT in Aus today, and the surfing fans are struggling with all of the ongoing changes.
With the Snapper event being one of the most popular events, WSL has decided not to go ahead with the second event on the stop of the WCT in Australia.
It seems that the only event that has been confirmed is the Newcastle event in New South Wales. Is this a potential sign that the WSL could potentially run the whole CT in NSW?
And now, after reading an article published by the Sydney Morning Herald, it seems as though the WSL have secured the second event of the Championship Tour on Sydney’s Northern Beaches at the prestigious North Narrabeen Beach. Andrew Stark said “Narrabeen had been chosen as the second location of the events due to its rich surfing history.”
And rich it is.. With former events being the World Junior Titles and the famous Coca Cola Classic and the likes of Simon Anderson, Damien Hardman, Nathan Hedge, Davey Cathels, Laura Enever and many more, Narrabeen has some great candidates for any possible wildcards.
So, we ask, what does the WSL have planned for the rest of the CT season for 2021? Will they continue to find more waves to add to the list of the events in Aus or will more events be cancelled creating some angry fans?
Stay tuned, there will definitely be more to come…
