THE RUMOUR MILL IS OVERFLOWING, COULD THE WHOLE CT BE IN AUS IN 2021?

It’s a question that everyone is desperately wanting to know the answer to. When will the next event be held and will we be able to see it run all the way through? Will there even be a Championship Tour for 2021?

We are in the same boat as you all. Will these events be held, if at all? What everyone learnt from 2020 was that nothing is certain. Things can change from one day to the next, you just have to be adaptable and ready to adjust to any changes.

However, we have a bit of a different take on it. With Australia being, in our opinion, probably one of the safest places to be in the world at the moment, we have some of the lowest recorded positive cases, as well as fatality rates, it would be assumed that being here is pretty safe. The hardest part about Australia is the whole getting into the country part and we can’t really see that changing in the near future.

So, with the next CT event being held at Bells Beach in April, from what we have heard, the WSL are working really hard to get all the CT surfers into this safe haven and ready to get the tour properly underway. There are also rumours of Lennox Head holding a CT event in April however the dates seem to clash with the Bells event????

But the question is if they do get the athletes into the country, would it be worthwhile running the whole CT in Aus? A CT style “bubble”? We are coming into what will hopefully be a winter full of waves and with some pretty insane beaches around the country, the WSL will have a variety of famous breaks to choose from and with some of the best surfers in the world working their magic, I mean what more could anyone ask for?

Not only will it be pretty cool to have these surfers in Australia showcasing what it has to offer, it will provide some communities and businesses who have suffered due to the bushfires, floods and coronavirus some much needed support.

We love the idea but what are your thoughts? The WSL rumour mill is going crazy right now so stay tuned for more!!!

As we count down the days until the start of the 2022 WSL Championship Tour season we were getting pretty excited to see action start up again. With everyone dropping some pretty serious clips over in Hawaii, we think it’s safe to say that we were all ready to see some world class surfing being laid down by the existing and new CT women. However, what we all didn’t anticipate was some pretty big news from the young Caity Simmers.
