DAY 2 RECAP OF THE BOOST MARGARET RIVER PRO

Day 2 of the Boost Mobile Margaret River Pro has come to a close and what a day it was to watch, with some exiting surfing for the completion of the women’s elimination round. 

As the first heat of the elimination round got under way, on paper it was looking to be pretty stacked with Malia Manuel to take on Stephanie Gilmore and local trials winner Willow Hardy. Malia got a nice looking ride under her belt early locking in a 7 point ride and taking the heat out ahead of Steph who came in a close second and unfortunately our favourite local girl Willow bowing out but putting up a great fight! Such an impressive sight watching Willow take on some serious sized waves.

Elimination heat 2 was a cracker with all the ladies posting some healthy scores. Sage Erickson ended up getting the best of it, taking the win ahead of Sunshine Coaster Keely Andrew coming and the aggressive back footed American Courtney Conlogue bowing out – bit of an upset we think!

As Day 3 is approaching, we are looking forward to watching the round of 16 get started. Here’s what the heats look like:
